The Musical Artists:

Loni Rose

Loni Rose is making a splash on the national music scene and chances are you've already heard her music more than once. In the extremely competitive market of getting songs placed in TV and Film, Loni has had notable success. Her songs have been featured everywhere from primetime television to the Big Screen. You have probably heard her songs on shows such as America’s Top Model, Meet My Folks, Providence, Roswell, and MTV’s Road Rules. Her music has even appeared on the big screen in the movies such as American Pie, Life Without Dick, and Bonneville. In live performance, Loni has shared the stage with musicians such as Chris Isaak, Shawn Colvin, Sarah McLauchlan, Everclear, Five For Fighting, Nelly Furtado, and Jewel.

Loni’s fans around the globe agree on one thing. They love this girl. They love her voice, her songs, and that certain je ne sais quoi that sets Loni Rose apart from her popster peers. Her songwriting is both accessible yet deeply genuine which satisfies a vast range of devoted listeners. Drawn from whatever happens to be on her sleeve at the moment, Loni's songs hit with a rich blend of tenderness and sass, echoing the ups and downs of womanhood, relationships, and life. On the cusp of releasing her new EP Shine Loni is already writing songs for her next album to be cut in Nashville Tennessee summer of 2007. Stay tuned for more on this fabulous up and coming songwriter as she continues to rise towards the top.

Two Loons for Tea

Together, Sarah and Jonathan make organic, lush, rich, and innovative music that defies genres and expectations. They break free from the norm while being a pleasure to simply listen to.

Sarah was raised by a free-spirited single mom in such exotic locales as the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco, near a nudist colony in the Mountains of Santa Cruz, and in metropolitan New York City. She has integrated the bohemian lifestyle into her own personal take on life, channeling it into her soulful singing.

Jonathan came to music from a different scene: although a life-long musician, he's been academician working in evolutionary biology, climatology, human genetics, Internet development and biostatistics, where he nurtured his attention for detail and a passion for invention.

Intervision

For the past year, Intervision has single-handedly created a groove epidemic in their hometown of Portland, OR. Combining elements of soul, rock, jazz and pop, the quintet is earning lofty comparisons to bands like Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and Jamiroquai, yet have created their own intensely unique sound.

Led by the undeniably soulful tenor of lead vocalist Paul Creighton, each member of the band asserts a distinct musical personality that has added to their unique style. While Creighton's sound invokes Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Sting and the improvisational flavor of Kurt Elling, the influences of Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots, and Dave Matthews are sewn in by the rhythmic riffs of guitarist/vocalist Tony Stovin. Keyboardist Kit Taylor rounds out the three-vocal front with his own twists of jazz and hip-hop while bassist Mike Glidden and drummer Jon Barber lay down their signature undulating groove.

Aphrodesia

Hailing from San Francisco, California, this 11-piece ensemble has been through a lot since their beginnings in 2003. From a pilgrimage to the legendary Shrine club in Lagos, Nigeria, a cross-country voter registration tour in a vegetable-powered bus, and representation from National Public Radio and USA Today, Aprodesia has been on quite a ride throughout their career. Their sound has been described as eclectic and unique. It blends rich female vocals and hard-hitting horn polyrhythmic funk together into what Global Rhythm Magazine has called, “Pan-African mash up.” They find their influences in West-African musical styles such as afro beat and Highlife. Their sound encompasses funk, dub, Zimbabwean trance, hip-hop, and global pop. Their most recent album-“Lagos by Bus” was released in November of 2007 by Cyberset Music. It is chucked full of songs about their trip through Africa, and proves that their sound is continually becoming more diverse. Their songs provide a sense of social justice, while their commitment to societal change has extended far from the stage into the real-world. Having headlined numerous benefits for causes ranging from AIDS prevention to Tsunami Relief to anti-Iraq War organizations, Aphrodesia is devoted to 'walking the walk as well as talking the talk'.

Cherry Poppin’ Daddies

The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies were conceived by former University of Oregon student, Steve Parry, who posed an interesting question: what if a punk rock rhythm section shared a practice space with jazz-schooled horn players and an equally trained keyboardist? The result was astonishing, and as the Daddies began selling out local clubs, they drew comparisons to Fishbone, Faith No More, and Bad Brains. Then, after finding themselves relegated to the “ska” bill, the Daddies incorporated big band swing into their musical mix and soon found their unique style welcomed by more mainstream formats. The band released “Zoot Suit Riot: The Swingin’ Hits of the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies in 1997, an album which eventually sold over two million copies. In their 19th year the band is poised to begin a new phase of their career with their latest album, "Susquehanna", which incorporates a typically Daddy-esque melange of styles. As a live act, the Daddies remain one of the most musically diverse and raucously entertaining performers in the Northwest and beyond.
